Two years ago our family got front row seats to see the Blue Angels air show. Absolutely fascinating. Flying around 1,400 miles per hour, they streaked across the sky doing maneuvers that left your brain spinning. Mind-blowing. After our VIP experience, one of the crew personally escorted our family onto the tarmac to get a picture with the pilots. So exciting!

I can’t wait to do it again sometime.

The Blue Angels fly as close as 18 inches from each other!

Those three words–fascinating, mind-blowing, and exciting–aren’t exactly the words kids use to describe prayer. For a lot of kids, prayer is boring, hard to do, and even frustrating. After all, how do you know God really hears you when you can’t see or hear him?

The truth is that prayer is conversation with the God of the Universe. Prayer leads to knowing God and having a close relationship with him. So it’s up to us to take the mystery out of prayer and turn around the misconceptions kids have.

That’s why I created Alphabet Prayers Cards this week. They encourage kids to have short simple conversations with God that are easy and even fun. It’s a small step that I hope your kids will take toward full-on conversations, prayer, with their Heavenly Father.
