Praise the Lord, you angels of his. Praise him, you mighty ones who carry out his orders and obey his word.

Psalm 103:20

If you’ve been reading this blog for awhile, you know I try to do something fun for families around different holidays through the year. Part of that means that every year I show up with a unique Family Advent Reading plan. I’m super excited about this year’s take–looking at Christmas through the eyes of the angel assignments.

The Christmas story is filled with angels, God’s messengers on special assignment. And two thousand years ago, they were extra busy carrying out God’s orders. God’s redemption plan was officially about to begin. Everything had to be perfect for the appearance of Jesus, the Messiah.

2018 Family Advent Reading Plan:
God’s Angel Assignments

Each reading highlights God’s special angel assignments through the Christmas story. Below every reading is the title of an optional corresponding devotional in When Will It be Christmas? 25 Stories and Family Activities for Advent.

You might want to add an different angel ornament to your Christmas tree each week.
